Tecnimont is the fourth Italian company to enter Iran’s oil and gas profitable sector to secure a deal with Iranian authorities after Saipem had signed a $4bn-deal with the country and two others Eni and Saras SPA hailed the deals with Iran.
Tecnimont is a sort of expert company in engineering, designing and building of refineries and large petrochemical complexes. Pierroberto Folgiero, Managing Director of Maire Tecnimont, is in Iran to sign the deal and told reporters on Sunday after signing the contract that Italy had been seeking to open new chapter in new era of cooperation with Iran in the country’s oil and gas sector after implementation of JCPOA; “Tecnimont will cooperate with Iran in providing finance, equipment and facilities, and tackling process glitches in the petrochemical complexes,” he told reporters.
Tecnimont has been active company even before removal of sanctions in Iran’s petrochemical sector and has signed similar contracts with Iran; beginning in March 2015, the company launched a new level of negotiation with its managing director Folgiero arriving in Tehran to secure massive projects deal with Iran in Assaluyeh as a major oil hub of the Middle East, during which Italian company building of ABS Petrochemical Park in Pars Special Energy Economic Zone.
